About

LSD Architects was established in 2018 in Hackney, London by a core team of three friends and partners, Luka, Sam and Dan.

Our driving mentality is to achieve excellence, beauty and functionality in all our works. Our projects are diverse in terms of scale, type and budget — and our experience covers masterplanning, residential, office, commercial and cultural buildings, as well as listed buildings.

We prioritise establishing honest relationships with our clients and colleagues, which results in a seamless and efficient process for everyone involved.

We foster a collaborative environment that encourages the free flow of ideas.

We believe that practising resource responsibility not only benefits the environment but also nurtures creativity.

We approach authority and established methods of working with a humble mindset, while embracing the opportunity to question and explore alternative approaches.

We try to avoid rushing to conclusions and instead allow ourselves sufficient time for deliberation.

We believe that our work process and the work itself should be infused with joy and a spirit of playfulness.

The team

Luka Anic

Luka is an alumnus of the University of Zagreb and has a diverse architectural background from working in Croatia, Italy, Norway, and the UK.

While at ACME in London, he was overseeing the design and construction of the Hilton hotel in the City of London and a luxury residential development in Folkestone.

During his time at Bennetts Associates, he worked on the sustainability-driven Meta HQ in Kings Cross, was the project architect for a mixed-use development in Glasgow and participated in various competitions for large office buildings, masterplans and residential schemes. Earlier he worked with U67 in Oslo, as well as with several local practices in Zagreb.

He worked at Chapman Taylor in Milan and de Architekten Cie from the Netherlands. He co-founded a student magazine called NF, focused on design and societal issues.

Luka is interested in all things design, science and technology.

Samuel Dodsworth

Sam Dodsworth is a highly skilled architect registered with the ARB. He graduated with distinction from the Bartlett School of Architecture.

He has significant experience in the construction of cultural, commercial, transport, and educational buildings, with strong technical skills, particularly in external envelopes.

At Allies and Morrison his focus has been large residential schemes. He was able to oversee the construction of Two Friargate, a large commercial office in the centre of Coventry, leading the external design. His competence with masterplanning meant he was also able to meaningfully contribute to the Acton Gardens masterplan for over 2500 new London homes.

His earlier time at Bennetts Associates was mostly invested in working on Meta HQ in Kings Cross, also contributing to extensive concept studies for Shaftesbury Theatre.

Sam is a passionate athlete. He actively participates in company initiatives aimed at fostering socialisation and entertainment.

Daniel Cotton

Dan is a registered UK architect and chartered member of the RIBA who graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture in London.

His broad experience encompasses architecture across commercial, residential and cultural sectors, as well as the refurbishment and redevelopment of listed buildings.

His tenures at Wilkinson Eyre and Bennetts Associates entailed leading multiple projects and design packages on significant listed buildings. He worked on complex projects such as the Battersea Power Station, the new Deutsche Bank HQ in the City of London, Shaftesbury Theatre, Meta HQ in Kings Cross, and the refurbishment of a Victorian listed building at 22 Grosvenor Gardens.

He worked at 3LHD Architects in Croatia during his studies and travels around Europe, providing a rich experience and appreciation of different architectural approaches.

Daniel is a recent, proud father with a love for jazz and videography.
